Things to Do in Stellenbosch

Founded in 1679, Stellenbosch is South Africa's second-oldest town, its streets planted with oaks by governor Simon van der Stel and lined with white gabled Cape Dutch houses. It's also a university town, with students filling the cafรฉs around Church Street and Dorp Street. Beyond the historic core, Stellenbosch sits at the heart of the Cape Winelands, surrounded by some of the country's oldest wine estates.
