Things to Do in Paarl & Wellington

Paarl takes its name from the huge granite dome of Paarl Rock, which glistens like a pearl after rain and ranks among the largest granite outcrops on earth. The surrounding valley, shared with neighbouring Wellington, holds some of the Cape's oldest and largest wine estates. On Paarl Mountain, the Afrikaans Language Monument commemorates the language born from Dutch, Malay, Khoi and other influences at the Cape.
