Things to Do in Hermanus & Gansbaai

Hermanus is one of the best places in the world to watch whales from dry land: southern right whales cruise along the cliffs from June to November, close enough to see from the coastal path. A whale crier still walks the town blowing a kelp horn to signal sightings, a tradition unique to Hermanus. An hour further along the coast, Gansbaai is the launch point for shark cage diving among great whites.
